Gullsong Bay is the coastline where the game's bird families congregate — four gull species in a dozen forms — plus the First Fire dungeon and one of the cleanest rainy-form hunts on the map. It is also the first region where new players meet the dungeon puzzle grammar in earnest.

Common spawns

  • Buglegull — on the small island bordering Thunderwood Forest and across the white peninsula. The border island is the reliable first stop.
  • Scallicrab — two beach colonies: the sands left of the Ley Flower, and the lonely islet near the lower dungeon entrance.
  • Blazewolf — on the grassland left of the teleporter, again in the pack-leader pattern: find the Cinderpup crowd, find the wolf.
  • Trombgull — the bay's signature gull, with its rainy form covered below.
  • Supporting casts along the shore: Gloomflame near the treeline and Cloudwool on the bluff meadows.

The rainy Trombgull

The bay's signature weather hunt: Trombgull's rainy form spawns during rain on the coastal reefs below the teleporter — specifically on the upper rocks of the two reef beaches. Notes:

  • The form replaces local gull spawns on those reefs while it rains; you cannot miss it if you are standing in the right place.
  • Reefs are slick-hazard terrain — mind the tide pools when fighting.
  • Rain refuses to come? The friend-world trick applies; a friend's storm is your storm.

Specials

The bay's documented specials include:

  • Buglegull, Trombgull and Tubagull beach/bay forms — the bay is where the gull family's form set is easiest to complete (several forms also spawn in Whalefall Shoals, but the bay's density is better).
  • Gull bosses — elite gulls on the peninsulas; standard one-minute respawn and seal income.
  • Scallicrab bay form — the islet colony near the dungeon mouth covers the form set's last entry.

First Fire dungeon

At the bay's edge sits First Fire — four chests, and the game's tutorial for Fire-link puzzle solving: burn vines, ignite fire pits (including one under ice — melt first, aim with a hold-skill), and pop explosive barrels in sequence. Full walkthrough in the dungeon guide. Bring any Fire creature; the dungeon's statue provides a fire companion if you forgot.

Routes that work

The gull circuit: border island (Buglegull) → white peninsula (gulls + elites) → Ley Flower beaches (Scallicrab) → dungeon islet (Scallicrab bay form) → reef beaches (Trombgull, rain permitting). One loop, complete bird table.

The pack route: western grassland laps for Blazewolf-as-leader captures; pair with Cloudreach Meadow pack sweeps for the evolution line's Regional entries.

The rain plan: when the sky opens, drop everything and reef-first — the rainy Trombgull is the region's only weather-locked prize.

The bay's value is density: four gull species, two crab colonies, a wolf line, a four-chest dungeon and one clean rain hunt, all inside a compact coastal loop. It is the best "finish three dex lines in one evening" region in the early game.
